Q:

Who is the leader of England?

A:

As of April 2014, the leader of England is United Kingdom Prime Minister David Cameron, head of the Conservative Party. Cameron assumed office on May 11, 2010, and was preceded by Gordon Brown, who resigned.

Prior to his term, Cameron worked for the Conservative Party's research department. After briefing for then Prime Minister John Major, Cameron was promoted as a special adviser to Chancellor of the Exchequer Norman Lamont in 1992. After working briefly for Home Secretary Michael Howard in a media relations role, Cameron left in 1994 to work as Director of Corporation Affairs at a British media company. He resigned from that role in 2001 to pursue a Parliamentary seat and officially became the Leader of the Conservative Party in 2005.
