According to Your Daily Workout, pop singer Beyonce Knowles lost between 50 and 65 pounds in the approximately four months following giving birth by sticking to a strict diet and workout regimen. She worked out three times a week for at least 90 minutes per session and ate a high-protein diet.
Beyonce's workout regimen included sprinting up and down stairs, running on a treadmill, lifting weights and dancing. She also did crunches using an exercise ball, incorporated lunges into her routine and ran sprint intervals. She worked her muscles in a 360-degree motion rather than just a linear one, which allowed her to become strong while maintaining her natural curves.
As part of her diet regimen, Beyonce counted calories very strictly. Her basic meal plan focused on egg whites for breakfast, a protein shake or turkey for lunch and sashimi for dinner, with snacks consisting of edamame, berries or apples. She ate small portions and had an extremely low carbohydrate intake. For three weeks, she also tried a vegan diet, which included foods such as vanilla chia pudding, hemp hummus and plenty of fruits and vegetables. Even when not maintaining a pure vegan diet, her personal trainer had her eat one vegan meal per day for a while to force her to eat more vegetables.
