Q:

Where can I find collectible state quarters?

A:

Collectible state quarters are widely circulated and are often given back as change at stores and from vending machines. They can also be requested from some banks. Many private sellers also offer partial and full collections.

The state quarters collection was introduced in 1999, and five new states were introduced each year, until all 50 states were represented in 2009. State quarter collections are available from coin shops and many private sellers through sites, such as Amazon and eBay, but the complete sets are generally sold for much more than the face value of the quarters. The only way to obtain them at face value is to look for them when receiving change, inquire at banks and credit unions and set up trades of duplicates with other collectors.
