To attach a headboard to a metal bed frame, position the headboard so that the bolt holes line up, and fasten the two pieces together using bolts, washers and nuts. Use a wrench to tighten the bolts.
Put the headboard in place behind the bed frame so that the bolt holes on the headboard legs line up with the holes on the frame. Have someone hold the headboard in place.
Slide a washer onto an appropriately sized bolt. Put the bolt into the bolt hole on the outside of the headboard, and push it through to the inside of the bed frame. Apply another washer to the bolt, and then screw a nut on the end. Repeat with both bolt holes on this leg.
Use two wrenches to tighten the bolts. Use one to hold the bolt head in place and the other to turn the nut. Repeat with each bolt.
Repeat steps 1 through 3 to attach the second leg of the headboard.
