Building a playground slide is a moderately easy project that involves installing support posts, a platform deck and the slide. To complete the project, use a tape measure, post hole digger, circular saw, sawhorse and a level.Know More
To build a playground slide, begin by deciding where the slide is to be permanently installed, making certain local codes allow building at the proposed location.
Footings for the support posts should be 2 feet deep. Pack 6 inches of gravel in the bottom of the hole for drainage, and install the support post, making sure it is level and plumb. Posts should be weather-treated and the hole should be three times the diameter of the post. Pour dry, fast-setting cement into the hole, leaving about 4 inches at the top. Pour in water and allow it to soak into the cement. Repeat for all four corners.
With the angle of the slide in mind, fasten 2x6 floor joists around the outside of the set posts. Fasten with lag bolts or galvanized fasteners. Butt the joist together for 90-degree corners. Inside the framed joists, run the center joist perpendicular to the direction of the decking.
Install the slide from the deck to the landing.
A fence may be built along a slope either by following the contour of the slope or by using stepped fencing. As its name implies, stepped fencing gradually follows the gradient of the slope with stepped sections leaving gaps underneath the fence. The contour or racked fencing, on the other hand, follows the undulations of the slope and are installed uniformly close to the ground.Full Answer >
