Generally, Honeywell thermostats are programmed by setting your preferred options using the unit's screen. Some thermostats can now be programmed remotely using Honeywell's mobile app. There is a wide variety of types of Honeywell programmable thermostats, so the exact programming process for each is slightly different.
Honeywell manufactures programmable thermostats that operate on a seven-day schedule, alternating five/two and five/one/one day schedules, and a full week schedule. While most units require the homeowner to program the thermostat themselves, newer models have the ability to program based on "interview" questions or even based on location tracking using the homeowner's smartphone.
Instructions for programming specific Honeywell thermostats are included with the thermostat unit and are also available on Honeywell's website.
