Full Answer

  1. Prepare the work area

Spread a towel on a flat surface, and place the glasses on it.

  2. Prepare the paper towels

Pour 2 cups of water into a large bowl, and add 2 tablespoons of liquid dish soap. Swirl your fingers in the water to distribute the soap, and then place five paper towels in the bowl.

  3. Treat the glasses

Remove the soaked paper towels from the bowl, and place them over the glasses. Make sure all of the dried super glue touches the paper towels. Dump the soapy water out of the bowl. Turn the bowl upside down, and place it over the wet paper towels. Give the moist towels about four hours to loosen the glue.

  4. Remove the glue

Inspect the glasses, and dab the super glue with the towel. Dab and blot the glue until all of it pulls away from the lens. If some glue remains, put the glasses back under the paper towels, and let the glasses sit for another hour.

What are some ways to remove Super Glue?

    A:

The proper method for removing Super Glue, or other cyanoacrylate adhesives, depends on the surface from which it is being removed. In many cases, acetone is the solvent to use to break the bond. When the adhesive is on human skin, use warm, soapy water and peel it away gently.
