Supporting actor, onscreen from the late '60s. For his portrayal of Motel the tailor in Fiddler on the Roof (1971) he received a Best Supporting Actor Oscar nomination. He came to prominence as the character Harold in the stage and screen versions of The Boys in the Band (film, 1970). He died of AIDS.
