Biography by Sandra Brennan
American actress Priscilla Dean began performing in stock theater with her parents when she was still a child. By age 10, she was a seasoned professional, and four years later debuted in a one-reel film for Biograph. She continued playing in shorts through 1911 when she signed to Universal to work as the leading lady in many Eddie Lyons and Lee Moran comedies. By 1917, she had become a very popular star playing the heroine in the Gray Ghost series. She then graduated to feature dramas and continued to be popular through the mid-'20s, when she moved to smaller studios and began making low-budget films.
