Affiliated with Dizzee Rascal, Newham Generals are a grime duo from East London who made their full-length album debut in 2009. Founded in 2003 in Forest Gate, a residential area within the East London borough of Newham, the duo was originally a trio comprised of Footsie, D Double E, and Monkstar, all of whom had been part of the N.A.S.T.Y Crew collective prior to founding a group of their own. Monkstar departed the group prior to its full-length album debut, Generally Speaking (2009). Released on Dizzee Rascal's label, Dirtee Stank Recordings, the album features the lead single "Head Get Mangled." The group's affiliation with Dizzee Rascal goes back several years, including the collaborations "Give U More" (2004) and "My Life" (2007).
