The koala has no natural predators, according to the Museum Victoria, so it sits at the top of the food chain in its natural habitat. In areas where the koala's habitat is being destroyed, koalas can fall prey to dogs and cats.Know More
The koala, which is native to Australia, is a herbivore that subsists on eucalyptus leaves. When in their natural habitat, koalas spend much of their time lounging in trees. This keeps them generally out of reach from predation. In areas that are being developed for human habitation, koalas are susceptible to being hit by passing cars as they attempt to seek out new habitats due to depletion of their natural food sources. Nearly 4,000 koalas are killed every year by motor vehicles and dogs, according to the Australian Koala Foundation.
