1940's Gangsters?


In the 1940s gangsters held a strong presence in various areas of the United States. This was no more true than in the city of Chicago. The 1940s saw the rise of the Latin Kings as well as the public suicide of Frank Nitti. Nitti was the boss of the Outfit, which was a criminal organization. After his death, associated of Nitti were found guilty of extortion and sentenced to ten years in prison. The 1940s saw many other events related to gangsters, not only in Chicago, but across the nation.
