Most people assume that bats eat insects as their main source of food. In actuality the almost 1000 species of bats eat all types of food. The group of bats known as microbats do eat mostly small flying night bugs such as mosquitoes, moths and others. The group known as megabats live mostly in the rainforest and eat ripe fruit.There are other bats that eat things like frogs, fish, plant nectar and even scorpions. Its amazing that bats do eat a lot more than just insects.
