What causes bleeding kidneys?

Answer

Bleeding kidneys are called hematuria. The kidneys allow blood to seep into the urine. Some causes of hematuria are urinary infection, kidney infection, bladder or kidney stone, enlarged prostate, kidney disease, or cancer. Other causes of bleeding kidneys are inherited disorders such as sickle cell anemia, or medications such as aspirins, penicillin, and heparin. It's best to see the doctor any time you see blood in the urine, even though you may not have any pain. You may be more prone to urinary bleeding if you have a family history of kidney disease or kidney stones
