Boric acid is used widely to treat pink eye or conjunctivitis. It is used in very dilute concentrations as an eye wash. When preparing it, mix an eighth teaspoon of boric acid in a cup of boiled water. The water should boil for not less than ten minutes. Allow the mixture to cool before using.
