Characteristics of Metalloids?

Metaloids are a term used in periodic chemistry that classifies the basic elements as either metal or nonmetal based elements. There are three characteristics of metaloids and that is they possess some character of metal and some non metals, they are semi conductive and have a metallic luster. They carry an electrical charge and can be useful in such items as calculators. There are seven elements classified as metalliods and they are Boron, Silicon, Germanium, Arsenic, Antimony, Tellurium and Polonium.

The metalloids are elements that border the Zigzag or stair-step, except for Aluminum (Al) and Polonium (Po). They are also: *some metallic *some non-metallic *semiconductors
Some characteristics of metalloids are: they are are solids. they
metalloids have the same properties of both metal and nonmetals they usually form anions
Metals are shiny, good conductors of heat and electricity, and have high density. Nonmetals are not shiny, are not conductors, and break easily...
