# Discrete Data?

Discrete data is data that can only take on certain values. This is a concept in mathematics that is used when collecting data. Discrete data are part of the quantitative value of data, which describes the quantity of an item. When looking at discrete data, the number of an object will be between certain parameters, for example it will be a whole number because the data is counting the number of people, and you cannot have half of a person.
