There are several household items that you can use to kill and get rid of mice. You can lay carbonated soda around the home. Mice are not able to burp like humans do. This will eventually cause them to die. You can also catch mice in mouse traps by using peanut butter as bait. Ways you can keep mice out of your home is to use peppermint oil. Mice hate the smell of peppermint oil. Dip a cotton ball into the oil and place the cotton ball in areas where the mouse enters the home. The smell will drive them away.
