How do I type a square root symbol?

Typing mathematical expressions can be a pain on a keyboard these days. There is not guide set up for you and you either know or you don't. The trick to this is using what is called 'Alt Keys'. To type a square root symbol you need to type 'Alt 251', holding the alt key while typing the 251. The result is this ?.
