How Does Snow Form?

Answer

Snow is formed when condensation begins and the tiny drops of condensation start to stick together. When the temperature in the higher atmosphere is cold enough the tiny drops start to freeze together and the drops begin to get heavier. When they are heavy enough they begin to fall towards the ground.

Snow forms when water vapor condenses and freezes into ice crystals. As the ice crystals fall from the clouds, they melt and then refreeze. This creates larger ice crystals which produce fluffy snow.
Snow forms when the water droplets, in the clouds, grow too heavy to stay in the clouds, causing it to fall to the earth. When the weather is very cold, the droplets freeze. As the frozen droplets fall, they melt a little bit and turn into snow. You can find more information here: http://www.learner.org/interactives/weather/iceandsnow.html
