How Far can Lice Jump?

Answer

Despite this popular myth, lice can not jump. They have no wings to fly with and their legs are not strong enough to jump with. All they do, with regards to mobility, is crawl along the hair shaft. The only thing that causes lice to seem as if they've jumped, is static from combing dry hair.
