Concerta is a drug used in the treatment of Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) in children and adults. It is a central nervous stimulant. It also has a high risk for abuse. Onset occurs usually 30 to 60 minutes after ingesting the medication and the effects last from eight to twelve hours. Peak plasma concentrations are usually found between six and ten hours. Typically, Concerta levels are undetectable within two days of the last dose of medication.
