# How to Solve Subsets?

Solving a subset can be very difficult. In order to solve them you will need to understand exactly what they are first. A subset is a list of elements. You can find more information here: how-to.ask.com

To solve a subset, first you need to understand the definition of a subset. The best way to explain is to give you an example. Say we have a set {a, b, c}. The subsets of this set are all the combinations of the set. {a, b, c}, {a}, {b}, {c}, {a,b}, {a, c}, {b, c} and {}. The easy way to determine how many subsets are in a set is to count the items in the set. In our example we have 3. You take the number 2 to the power of the number of items in the set. We have 2 to the 3rd power, which is 2x2x2 which is 8.
the subsets are just the sets that have some or all of the same elements, but no others, for example 1,2,3,4 They are always in same order. These are subsets
To solve subsets, you have to determine whether or not the two sets contain all of the same elements within them. If this is found to be so, then one set would be the subset of the other because of the fact that they contain the same elements.
