What is a square root formula?

The term square root is one that is used in mathematics. The square root is a number that will produce a specific result when it is multiplied by itself. There really isn't much of a formula used in finding a square root. You would just basically need to multiply the number by itself to find what the square root is. If you wanted to find the square root of 225, for example, you would simply need to figure out that 15 multiplied by 15 equals 225, so the square root of 225 is 15.
