The original members of The Jackson 5 were Michael, Marlon, Jermaine, Tito and Jackie Jackson. The group was comprised of five of the nine Jackson family siblings originally from Gary, Indiana.
This group of brothers became a great success at Motown under the guidance of Berry Gordy and their father, Joe Jackson. One of their signature songs was “ABC." It reached No. 1 on the Billboard charts in 1970.
Michael left the group to begin a solo career in 1980 that continued until his death in 2009. The youngest brother, Randy, performed with the group sporadically in its different incarnations. The musical group has been known by a variety of names, including The Jackson 5 and The Jackson Brothers. Jackie, Tito, Jermaine and Marlon reemerged in 2012 as The Jacksons.
