What Are the Two Major Types of Statistics?


There are two main forms of statistics, descriptive and inferential. Descriptive statistics is used to describe or summarize data. Average, standard deviation, frequency, and percentage are all used in descriptive statistics. Inferential statistics draws an inferences about the data. This includes estimations, correlations and predictions that are made using the data.
