The acronym "CSA" in movie credits stands for the Casting Society of America. The CSA is made up of a large group of casting directors that work in film, television and theater.
Not every casting director is a member of the Casting Society of America, as it is not a guild or union. The CSA was established in1982 in an effort to maintain a standard of professionalism within the industry, as well as to offer a support network to members. The organization began offering associate memberships to casting associates in 2008, and as of 2014, there are over 600 members working throughout the world, according to the CSA.
