Who Is the Father of Algebra?

There are apparently two Fathers of Algebra. Al-Khwarizmi around 780 - 850 AD. He is thought to be the greatest mathematician of his time. Diophantus was a great Greek mathematician from about 500 years prior who also made many important discoveries.
