Why Did the Framers Settle on Federalism as the System of Government for the New Nation?

Answer

The Framers settled on Federalism as the system of government for the new nation because there was a need for consistency in the judiciary system and a unified military force. There was also a need for a strong supported currency. The Articles of Confederation had proven that strong state power would not allow there to be a strong national government. If a strong central government isn't restrained, then the idea of limited government would be at risk.
