What Were the Advantages and Disadvantages for the American Side in the Revolution?

As the American Revolution went underway, the colonies had surprisingly enough benefits to help them win. They knew the land they fought on, had strong leadership, and eventually gained the aid of powerful France and Spain. However, they did lack the supplies, men, and conjoined strategy that helped the British Empire remain dominant, up until 1781 when the United States defeated Great Britain.
