Advantages and Disadvantages of Teacher Made Tests?

There are both advantages and disadvantages of teacher-made tests. One advantage may be that the teacher knows the strengths and weaknesses of his students and might base the test questions on the strengths, resulting in consistently high grades. A disadvantage however, is that if all tests are individually teacher-made then you really cannot get an accurate reading of larger groups of people.
