What are some antibiotics that do not contain penicillin?

Answer

There are quite a number of antibiotics that do not contain penicillin. Some of these antibiotics include Cephalexin, Keflex, Zithromax and Zmax. These types of antibiotics are completely unrelated to penicillin. In general, a medication that is related to penicillin will have a similar sounding name. For example, amoxocillin is related to penicillin and can cause some of the same allergic reactions among people who are allergic to penicillin.
