What are the conflicts in the story "Appointment With Love?"

The short story "Appointment With Love" by Sulamith Ish Kishor features several conflicts. First is a man-versus-man conflict between Lieutenant Blandford and the fake Maynell Hollis, and second, there is a man-versus-self conflict in the Lieutenant versus himself.

The Lieutenant experiences internal conflict in "Appointment With Love" in addition to conflict with others. His internal conflict revolves around him trying to choose between asking the older woman or younger woman to dinner. Another conflict was the test made by Hollis toward the Lieutenant; Maynell tested the Lieutenant by sending a woman to him to see if he was more interested in a woman based on what he saw physically, rather than, for example, the woman whom he came to know through their letter correspondences.
