Aztec Traditions?

Answer

The Aztec empire was vast and included people of many types of ethnicity and this resulted in Aztec traditions overlapping. one example of this is in their multiple creation stories and gods. One tradition that cannot be overlooked is that of human sacrifice. The most gruesome example of this was the hart-extraction. The tradition of human sacrificed originated from the Aztec belief that the gods required blood for the atonement of man. Human sacrifice was a tradition the Aztecs' adopted from even earlier Mesoamerican traditions that date far back into antiquity. Typically each sacrifice was performed to one of the 5 sun gods during their 18 festivity days.
