The Bantu people originally lived in the western part of Africa. The Bantu migration started happening in the year of 1000 B.C. The Bantu people started migrating to the south and east of Africa for economic reasons. They migrated to areas around the Congo River and beyond. Many of the Bantu people lived in very small villages and towns. The later moved further south so that they could raise herds such as sheep, goats, and cattle.
