What is the biography of Lisa Robertson?

Answer

Lisa Robertson is a television personality, spokeswoman and model who has come a long way from her humble origins growing up in rural Tennessee. She is a graduate of the University of Tennessee, holding a B.S. in long-term health care administration, a former Miss Tennessee awardee, and is, as of May 2014, a program host for QVC who has her own show, "The Lisa Robertson Show."

She is a model, spokeswoman, and classically trained musician. Robertson showed promise as a budding starlet during her middle school and high school years. Upon her high school graduation, she was already leaps and bounds ahead of her classmates. Robertson graduated at the top of her class, and in addition to simply making it through her high school years, (which few other adolescents in her area did) she thrived. Robertson began playing the violin and fiddle in her middle school orchestra and continued taking lessons and performing with her classmates through high school, earning recognition along the way as an exceptionally talented player with both instruments. In addition to having a talent for musical instruments, Robertson has a strong set of vocal chords as well. She was spotted by a talent scout during her senior year of high school, who asked her to sing before a crowd of nearly 100,000 during the halftime show at a New Jersey Nets game hosted by the University of Tennessee; Robertson enthusiastically accepted the invitation and only continued to make a bigger name for herself from there.

Robertson continued to build her academic and professional portfolios after enrolling at the University of Tennessee. She graduated with a B.S. in long-term health care administration but ultimately found her calling in the field of television and modeling instead. Her good looks, enthusiasm for public speaking and outgoing personality proved to be a perfect combination for strutting runways, speaking at academic, social and professional engagements and advocating on behalf of pro bono organizations. Upon enrolling at the University of Tennessee, Robertson entered the Miss America Pageant in 1989 and was crowned Miss Tennessee at the event. Using her new-found fame as leverage, she began touring locally to promote the Tennessee governor’s drug-free program, visiting public schools and business communities to advocate her cause. She received the Outstanding Service Award from then-governor of Tennessee, Ned McWherter, for her efforts, and went on to become the spokesperson for the Cultured Pearl Association of America and Japan.

Launching off her stepping-stone as an outspoken local celebrity, Robertson began her career in television through Shop at Home in Knoxville, Tennessee, then moved on to the VIA-Home Shopping network. She then moved on to become a QVC host, joining the staff in the mid-1990s, and proving herself a natural fit on the energetic team. She represents her company at many high-profile fashion events, including the New York Fashion Week. Never one to enjoy a dull moment, she also hosts her own television show, "The Lisa Robertson Show."
