British Cession?

Answer

The British Cession of 1818 occurred after the Louisiana Purchase extended into Canada. It did not include a piece of land near the Lake of the Woods. Therefore, the U.S. and England decided to create a border at the 49th Parallel, and they also agreed to share the Oregon Country.
