# Calculate GPM?

To be able to calculate GPM, or gallons per minute, you need to know exactly what those gallons are flowing through. There is not one overarching formula that applies to every situation, or even to many situations. The flow of gallons per minute depends on the size of the conduit, whether the interior of that conduit is smooth or rough, and various other factors. If you know the composition of the conduit you are calculating the GPM for, and you know what is flowing through that conduit, you can narrow your search for the proper method.
