Calculating Total Fertility Rate?

Answer

The term total fertility rate, or total period fertility rate, is the term used to describe the average number of children that a woman might give birth to over the course of her life. This is if she were having the same amount of children as the average population, and she lives to experience the end of her menses and the beginning of menopause. To calculate total fertility rate, calculate the percentage of women in a year who gave birth to a live child. Divide that number by 100 and you have the total fertility rate.
