Can i keep a male and female betta together in the same tank?

Whether or not the male and female Bettas can be together depends a lot on the male Betta. In theory they are supposed to be ok to put together; you just don't put more than one male Betta in the tank. My male Betta didn't like sharing even with a female.

Unless you are wanting to breed your Betta's I wouldn't. He will try to mate with ALL of them and once a male Betta does this he then tries to kill the female so they don't try to
