Clostridium difficile infection can be known as either C-Def or C-Diff, but is most commonly called C-Diff. This bacterial infection can actually at times be caused by antibiotics, something meant to kill bacteria. C-Diff mainly affects the digestive system and can cause diarrhea, gas, bloating, fever, nausea, and loss of appetite. An effect of all that can be weight loss. C-Diff can sometimes clear up on its own, or sometimes an antibiotic other than the one that may have caused C-Diff may be necessary.
