A GUI is a Graphics User Interface. Some of the characteristics of a GUI include WIMPs and WYSIWYG. WIMPs include menus, windows, pointing devices such as a mouse or trackball, and icons. WYSIWYG is your ability to print out what you see just on your computer screen.
