Chevy S10 Towing Capacity?

Answer

The Chevy S10 towing capacity can vary depending on the year of the truck. It was smaller than a full size truck, so the towing capacity was not that large. Most of the Chevy S10's did have a towing capacity of 1700/6000 lbs. There were add-ons that would allow larger towing capacities. A stronger axle or suspension could increase the towing capacity. The other way to increase towing capacity was to redistribute the weight of the vehicle. Towing capacity is based on the Gross Vehicle Weight Rating (GVWR). If the weight from the passengers and truck itself were lessened, the towing capacity could be increased.
