Ecological successions are of two types, primary and secondary succession that occurs after an ecosystem has been disrupted and they also take a long period to form the forest back. To contrast the two, primary succession occurs after an environment has been completely destroyed, including the soil while Secondary succession occurs in areas where the soil remains intact.
