Crab Mentality?

Answer

Crab mentality refers to the way that when a person is unable to get ahead they will try to bring the others down with them. This comes from the idea of a pot of crabs. While some might be able to escape, the others drag them back down as if to point out that if they cannot have freedom, no one else should either.
