Danzen tablets are the brand name of serratiopeptidase. They are proteolytic enzymes that are produced by enterobacterium. Serratiopeptidase is found in the intestine of the silkworm, allowing it to emerge from the moth and dissolve the cocoon. There have been claims that the Danzen tablets are beneficial for pain and inflammation. However, trials have shown that they are no more effective than the placebos that were also given during the trials. Danzen first debuted in 1968.
