Descriptive text is text that describes things in a descriptive manner, i.e. detailed manner. Descriptive texts draws the reader in and provides an experience the reader can envision by the vivid manner in which the text relates a story. An example of a descriptive text is the writings in Alice in Wonderland. Although a child has never been to Wonderland and will never be able to, they can't see what it looks like.
