Did Wearing Pants Low Start in Prison?

Answer

Wearing larger pants that sagged did start in prison, but the rumor that it indicates homosexual interest is false. Many inmates are given clothes that are too big for their frame, and since belts are prohibited, pants tend to sag. It became popular first among rappers and gangsters, and now wearing loose and baggy pants has made it's way into popular culture among young men.
