Difference between Digestion and Absorption?

Answer

Digestion and absorption, although two different things, both work together within the digestive system to supply the living body with the essential nutrients it needs to survive and thrive. With that being said, the difference between digestion and absorption is that digestion is a process that occurs due to mechanical functions (I.e. the churning of foods), and of chemical processes, that serve to breakdown consumed goods into smaller bits.
