We are kicking around the idea of creating a webinar series targeting CMOs, but not sure how effective it can be. Any insight/data into CMOs most trusted sources of information is also welcome. Thanks!
No. We use the following information sources:
1. We talk to other CMOs. Being a CMO is like being in a club. We like to network and talk about the latest ideas, trends, etc... more so than most other executive functions.
2. We depend on our direct reports. They are great sources of information when it comes to allocating marketing budget. In fact, that's what these people do - they allocate marketing budget.
3. We use third party research firms, as well as well as agencies. It's usually the lowest quality source of information, but sometimes you need that 'objective' analysis.
Just to hammer the point home: I don't even watch my own marketing department's webcasts!
